Following "The Borrower Arrietty", which became the No. 1 hit at the Japanese box office in 2010, comes Studio Ghibli's latest work "From Up on Poppy Hill" by director Goro Miyazaki.
A youth story about the love and friendship of high school students set in Yokohama in 1963. These storyboards are a blueprint of the movie that the director drew for the staff, with instructions such as the director's intention, angles, dialogue and sound effects are written carefully and you can enjoy it as a beautiful picture story full of dynamism.
It includes an essay by writer Shion Miura, "The light from the past illuminates the future," and "The Road to'From Up on Poppy Hill'" (written by Studio Ghibli), which documents the film's production process.
